Life is not ideal. Frequently, it does not live up to expectations and it can be helpful to have a partner in processing your life experiences. In a collaborative relationship with you, we can create a space for you to meet yourself and begin the work of self-discovery. I believe in each individual's capacity to be the expert in their life with the innate resources to build a life of meaning and value. My approach is informed by Buddhism, positive psychology, and acknowledges the dignity of the human spirit.
Every story is interesting. There are infinite ways to live a life, and I enjoy learning from clients as they explore their personal narratives and decide where they want their lives to go. I worked in the technology industry for several decades, and found that managing people was the most satisfying work. As a therapist, I can collaborate with individuals so that they can express themselves and contribute to the world in a meaningful way.
I have completed Positive Neuroplasticity training and use that learning to inform my therapy relationships. Each of us can our mind to change our brains and our lives for the better. By installing and growing positive experiences, we can build new neural pathways and turn these positive states of experience into positive traits of being.
The client who is actively engaged in self-discovery in therapy can learn to grow inner resources like resilience, compassion, gratitude, self-worth and insight to overcome the brain’s natural negativity bias.
There are infinite ways to live a life. I don’t have answers but I am committed to being a partner on your journey of growth.
In my free time, I am a CrossFit enthusiast and enjoy yoga, kayaking, and cycling. I am an avid reader, and love to cook.
