How would you describe your approach to therapy?

My approach to therapy is deeply rooted in the humanistic practices of Carl Rogers. This is a fancy way of saying that above all else, you as my client are held with the highest degree of unconditional positive regard and non-judgment at all times. Which is yet again, another fancy way of saying, that it is my humble honor that you would bravely allow me to hold your deepest truths, desires and fears.

Relationships (not only to others, but also with ourselves) are integral to overall wellness and fulfillment in life. Most importantly, relationships are complex and change over time. In most cases, it is our past and present relationships that play a significant role in our current level of stress, anxiety, hopefulness, and happiness. This is why I also believe in utilizing a relational-cultural approach so that we may explore how the ones closest to you create meaning in your life.

My hope is that our alliance will create a therapeutic environment that will cultivate respect and trust through openness, authenticity, and compassion.

What trainings have you completed and how do they relate to your ideal client?

I have had training surrounding matters of LGBTQ2+ Cultural Awareness, as I believe that it is my duty to educate myself about inclusion, as a means of fostering more sensitivity to my clients from all walks of life. I have also completed Trauma-Informed Care, for the Caregiver, which is necessary for having an understanding about the nature of trauma, and its presentation as well as its impact in someone’s life. Finally, I have had training in Motivational Interviewing in a Chemical Dependency Setting, and it has given me the tools to ask the essential questions that promote and support change to create healthier habits, when a history of addiction is present. All of these trainings have been crucial to equipping myself with knowledge on the intricacies of the human condition and how to apply them to my clients' lives.

Is there anything else you would like you clients to know?

I welcome humor in the room (or on Zoom) at all times, as I believe we should not take ourselves too seriously, even if our work together might be serious. I also encourage any form of creative expression that is meaningful to you, especially if you think it will have a positive impact on your process. P.S. Be prepared to hear my NY accent!

Personal note - What do you love to do in your free time?

I love to spend time with my dog, Kody, try new recipes in the kitchen, spend time out by the pool in the sun, play guitar hero and educate myself in the world of finance, crypto and NFTs.
